Environmental Position
At 4Spaces, we believe that responsible design goes beyond aesthetics. Every textile, material, and production decision carries an environmental and social impact. Our approach is built around creating long-lasting, high-quality products while working towards more responsible production methods and supply chains.
Responsible Materials
We carefully select materials with durability, traceability, and environmental responsibility in mind. From natural fibres such as linen, hemp, cotton, and wool to recycled and innovative materials, we continuously seek solutions that reduce unnecessary environmental impact without compromising quality or tactile experience.
Many of our textiles and core materials meet internationally recognised safety and sustainability standards, including OEKO-TEX® certifications, ensuring that products are tested against harmful substances and produced according to strict environmental and human safety criteria.
Local & Ethical Production
With strong Swiss roots and production partnerships primarily based within Europe, we prioritise local manufacturing and shorter transport routes whenever possible. Working closely with trusted mills, workshops, and artisans allows us to maintain direct oversight of production quality, environmental practices, and working conditions.
We value craftsmanship, transparency, and long-term partnerships. Many of our textiles are produced and finished using specialised artisan techniques that combine industrial precision with human expertise.
Long-Lasting Design
Sustainability also means creating products designed to endure. We focus on timeless materials, thoughtful construction, and high production standards that extend the lifespan of our textiles and reduce unnecessary replacement and waste.
Continuous Responsibility
We understand that sustainability is an ongoing process rather than a final destination. As technologies, materials, and environmental standards evolve, we continue to evaluate and improve our sourcing, production, packaging, and logistics practices to minimise environmental impact wherever possible.
Through responsible production, conscious material choices, and long-term collaboration with our partners, we aim to create textiles with character while contributing to a more thoughtful and sustainable future.
