The Art Hotel in Basel comes into the enjoyment of 4Spaces textiles. These are all produced within a maximum radius of 500kms from our headquarters and thus promote regional material sourcing. The fabrics guarantee best acoustic performance and a high level of comfort for the guests and are Oekotex certified. “It was important to me to reflect the sensual but also creative atmosphere of the hotel concept," says creative director Michele Rondelli. Matching the Shoji panels, the day curtain should bring a good portion of comfort and privacy into the room. The close-fitting facades should be forgotten without losing light. It was important that the room presents itself as a quiet unit, - a place of retreat. A flame yarn was chosen for the fine and subtle texture. The calculated weight not only gave the desired visual effect, but also had a positive influence on the acoustic values in the room. The night curtain in a warm grey was the natural development of the concept. Both curtains extend without interruption as one curtain over the entire window widths and thus also convey a silence with captivating simplicity. “At the presentation with the client and architect, the fabrics were decided in 5 minutes. We all had the same (good) taste and found the composition enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing! Fabrics with character!'', says Rondelli happily.

Passend zu den Shoji Paneelen sollte der Tagesvorhang eine gute Portion an Behaglichkeit und Privatsphäre in den Raum bringen. Die enganliegenden Fassaden sollen vergessen gehen ohne Licht zu verlieren. Es war wichtig, dass sich der Raum als eine ruhige Einheit, - ein Rückzugsort, präsentiert. Für die feine und subtile Textur wurde ein Flammengarn gewählt. Das berechnete Gewicht ergab nicht nur die gewünschte Optik , sondern hatte auch einen positiven Einfluss auf die akustischen Werte im Raum. Der Nachtvorhang in einem warmen Grau war die natürliche Weiterentwicklung des Konzeptes. Beide Vorhänge ziehen sich ohne Unterbruch als ein Vorhang über die ganzen Fensterbreiten und vermitteln dadurch auch noch mal eine Stille mit bestechender Einfachheit. ’Bei der Präsentation mit Bauherrin und Architektin waren die Stoffe in 5 Minuten entschieden’. Wir hatten alle denselben (guten) Geschmack und fanden die Komposition geniesserisch und ästhetisch ansprechend! Stoffe mit Charakter!’’, erfreut sich Rondelli.
